Jo-Anne Dudley

Qualifications & Experience

 A mining engineer with over 30 years experience, predominantly in underground metalliferous mining but with extensive exposure to open pits, production planning and value chain optimisation.  

My track record of global leadership enables me to constructively work across locations and cultures to produce agreed actions.    

I am a Fellow and Chartered Professional member of the AusIMM and have experience as both QP reporting under NI43101 and CP reporting under JORC codes. Past responsibilities as COO and Disclosure Committee membership  enables me to understand materiality and public reporting relevant to your business. 

My hard won experience is yours to leverage in your business, at Board level and with Senior Leadership or your teams.

Having worked in as an underground contractor then within large and global publicly-listed mining companies, I work with company teams to improve business outcomes, building capability as well as planning and executing work. 

Extensive experience in strategic and longterm planning, and the resulting change management enables me to assist teams both in terms of quality of planning product, but just as importantly, in communications and engagement with key stakeholders and end users.

With work experience in both centralised and decentralised organisational models, as well as matrix organisations, I understand the opportunities and challenges that come with operating models and can help your teams to work effectively in these environments.  I understand what needs to be done, and how we can go about achieving success in your organisational circumstances.

My  11 year commitment to WIMARQ’s structured mentoring program  enables me to concurrently assess technical project aspects and people opportunities and improvements.

Facilitation Skills

  • Managed the design, development and deployment of a Mining Technical Professional Development Programme.  The Company partnered with Duke Corporate Education and I managed program sessions, and was one of the programme facilitators over 4 years.  The global rollout was highly successful for senior technical people across a number of commodities.  400 people attended during my management period and the programme was considered one of Duke CE's best performers
  • Risk Assessment facilitation experience
  • Trained facilitator for Investment in Excellence professional and personal development programme

Leadership and Board engagement

  • Responsible for board approvals:  approval of a multi billion dollar project, support for project finance options, translation of deep technical information to board to support approvals
  • Disclosure committee experience including disclosures of project schedule and cost variance, technical report triggers 
  • Qualified Person sign off for technical information and coordinating Competent Person for a major copper-gold mine/ project
  • Leadership of teams across multiple locations, including international and multi-cultural teams
  • Study leadership - all project stages
  • Experienced Non-Executive Director



Strategic and Longterm Planning

  • Experience in scoping, carrying out and communication of Strategic Planning engagements for large open pit and underground metalliferous operations
  • Experience in successfully deploying significant operational change, at times through influence and within matrix organisational structures
